The sec3s have noticed a SHARP drop in the standard of our unit, especially in terms of attendance and bearings(uniform). This involves EVERYONE, even the sec3s.

From now on, for EACH person:
1. Absent from training without a valid reason, AND/OR
2. Not in PROPER &COMPLETE attire, without a valid reason,
The platoon the person is in will have to do 2 push-ups.

Yes, 2 may seem like a small number. But when we multiply it by the number of absentees, you guys will be shocked.

HOW??

MAKE SURE everybody comes, or at least most of them:

-> SPREAD THE MESSAGE(any changes in dress code, etc.).
-> CALL UP the rest of your platoonmates, wherever possible, & encourage everyone to come.
-> Pay SPECIAL CARE to those who have not been turning up(find out why, help them with their difficulties).
-> Come for training yourself.
-> IF you do not know/ are not sure about any training, jolly well CALL UP ANYONE TO ASK, or check the blog.

MAKE SURE everyone's attire is proper and complete:

-> SEASON your berets PROPERLY(approach the seniors if u still don't know how).
-> IRON your uniform in advance.
-> Make sure your uniform is COMPLETE(every part must be present).
-> ALWAYS POLISH your boots/shoes(regardless of whether it's No.4 or No.3)
-> For those with ranks, ALWAYS make sure your rank is sewn on NEATLY, and WITHOUT DELAY(once you get a new rank, immediately sew it on ASAP).
-> Pin badges up NEATLY, and CORRECTLY(approach the seniors if u are not sure).
-> Notify the Logistics Head(2SG Clement), or any other senior, about anything wrong with your uniform.

With all that, i'd just like to conclude that "I forgot", "I was busy", "Not enough time", "I don't know how", "Nobody told me"............

[PartB/C] This is a note for everyone involved in the parade. Tomorrow will be the real thing- the real parade. This is what we have all been training for man!

So, of course, your uniform(No.3) must be TIPTOP.

CHECKLIST:
1. well-seasoned beret
2. well-ironed/starched uniform
3. well-starched collars
4. well-polished shoes
5. neatly pinned badges
6. presence of EVERY SINGLE PART of the uniform(eg. belt, socks, ampulet, etc.)

For those whose hair are long, by hook or by crook, it MUST be short by tomorrow, or u may not be able to participate in the parade. For those who 'cannot make it liao', apply gel/wax to keep your flat and neat.

Also, drink up tonight before you sleep. Though you will wake up wanting to go to the toilet, it will keep you from getting dehydrated during the parade.

Lastly, here's a 'checklist' our Senior Nicholas came up with.
Check it constantly during the parade:
1. Head- Look 45 degrees upwards
2. Shoulders- Pull back your shoulders, and push out your chest
3. Arms(elbows)- Lock your elbows, and not just clench your fist
4. Legs- Make sure it's shoulder-width apart
5. MIND!- Concentrate and be aware of what you are doing. Do every single drill with pride!

Personally, i find this really useful. Don't know about u guys, but it's just FYI.

i shall share some of my experiences as an Aeromodeller with you guys. before i start, let's talk a little about my 'history'. unlike many of the sec1s and sec2s this year, i did not join NCC because of Aeromodelling, or anything close to that. the thing is, when i was sec1, i don't think there was Aeromodelling. even if there was, many of us didn't know of its existence. so if you're talking about interest, mine may not be as much as some of yours.

Well, there is actually 2 kinds of flying in Aeromodelling(Line-Control(LC) & Radio-Control(RC)). The most recent example would be the RC kites 4 of the sec3s have been learning to fly at HQ NCC. I'm not talking about a real kite(the one with the string and all), RC kite is like a.......flat plane? hahaha. Since it's Radio-Controlled, there's a transmitter which the pilot would hold, and a receiver attached to the plane. From experience, it can fly freaking far. Well to fly it, we actually had to go through this simulator training first. Well the simulator itself is fun enough-you can do a lot of retarded things with it while the sirs aren't looking(hehe). Once we were ready, we flew the kites we built ourselves^^ My first time flying was reallyreally kool corz i succeeded in flying. And Sir Alvin was like, complaining bout how we have good instructors and how he didn't xDxD But then again, that was just beginner's luck. After that, it was like a crashing spree. This one broken, that one need fixing. The fixing part is freaking troublesome, but worth it. Now, i'm glad to say i'm able to keep it in the air most of the time^^ Like your USM has said, it's really something you will be proud of. It's like, after all your hard work, you can finally fly it.

Then again, i have only talked about keeping the kite in the air. I haven't even started on the stunts/formations you can do with it. On this Sunday(o9August2oo9), 4 of the sec3s including myself, would be performing RC kite flying at Anchorvale Community Club, with some of the Sirs from HQ NCC. i heard it's somewhere near Sengkang(?) Probably and hopefully, we would have learnt to do stunts properly by then. Well, if possible, come down to support us, and at the same time, find out what RC flying is like^^

For those worrying about whether you can do it, you shouldn't. Learning how to fly isn't really about like, being serious, setting a target, and working towards it. It's more of having fun and being serious at the same time. Even if your kite is crashing all over, u can still enjoy and laugh about it. To me, the learning process is the most fun part. 'Although the end always seems more attractive, sometimes, it's more about how you get to the end.' -by mr jiajun(me).

And now, moving on to how we choose cadets to go for the Aeromodelling Instructors' Course(AIC). Well basically, the criteria consists of 2 things- your commitment to NCC, and your interest in Aeromodelling. Then again, you can't expect yourself to be chosen if you turn up for trainings once every few months.

I seriously hope this post has, even by just a little bit, inspired some of you guys.

[Part A/B] This is a note for all sec1s and 2s. We will be having a NCC photo taking session.

For guys with long hair, u MUST cut it by next training, or u may not be allowed to take the photo. By cut, i do not mean just go have a nice trim.
For guys:
-your fringes must not touch your eyebrows, no matter how u pull it.
-your sideburns must be short and flat(meaning no thick bulks).
-the hair at the back must not touch your collar.
For girls:
-your fringe, if any, must be pinned up.
-your hair must be bundled up, and contained with your hairnets.

Also, make sure your uniform(No.3) is at its best.
As usual, here's a checklist:
1. well-seasoned beret
2. well-ironed/starched uniform
3. well-starched collars
4. well-polished shoes
5. neatly pinned badges
6. presence of EVERY SINGLE PART of the uniform(eg. belt, socks, ampulet, etc.)

For people who do not have their No.3, make sure u come in proper No.4.

For people whose No.3 cannot fit(either too big/small) either:
-u try your best to wear it, OR
-u come in No.4, and bring along your No.3.

Lastly, do make it a habit to do a full uniform check for yourself(in front of the mirror or something) before you step out of your house.

Hello peeps.

I must say, some of the o3s are having fun time in aeromodling recently. And for me!, im really glad that 4 of our o3s are participating in the public flying demostration at one of the community centers with PM Lee as the GOH!! Since we're on to the topic of what we did for aeromodling, Here's the list of events that the four aeromodlers from our school had participated in for the past few years.
1- Singapore youth flying club ( got the 8th place !! in singapore )
2- Another competition for the Singapore youth Flying club.
3- helped out at one of the school's function by teaching their teachers to fly aeromodels.
4- Asian youth Games !
5- And now, Performing for PM Lee at one of the community center on National Day. Whoo hoo!
But the best part is that we are one of the few schools that represent HQ NCC(air) !!!

I hoped that by looking at the events we've participated, the rest of the cadets will have more interest in coming for ncc training as we will choose those who have interest in aeromodling lol.

Now, i cant wait to share the experience from the trainings i had at HQ lol. Since for the latest event for aeromodling is flying Radio controlled kites, I am so proud at myself for being able to fly that kite as it is really10 super difficult to fly it. But now, I manage to do it lol!!!! super happy man. It took like how many months to be able to fly that kite lol. ( and im not even talking about mastering it ) Another reason why i like this aeromodling training is because.......... IT's FReE!! haha. +, u get to fly with all the bigshots and pro's at HQ lol. Super proud man for the four of us man. I'll get you u more updates of the National Day flying demostration soon.. So keep reading this blog man!

SINGAPORE: Singapore's response to a simulated land and sea assault by terrorists on the resort island of Sentosa was tested in the final phase of Exercise Northstar VII on Wednesday morning.

This year's exercise re-created simultaneous terror attacks, similar to the Mumbai incident last November.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who witnessed it with several ministers responsible for security in the country, said the exercise tests the readiness of the security forces to save lives.

The scenario of the exercise: Three terrorists infiltrate Singapore's territorial waters in a motorised boat, but their attempt is met with a swift response. Later, more terrorists make their way to the Siloso Beach and go on a rampage.

Mr Lee said: "In Mumbai, to get to the hotels and the targets, the terrorists had to come by boat, land, lug heavy knapsacks, go through the streets. A lot of people must have seen them, but the authorities didn't get the warning in time and couldn't react quickly enough to prevent it from happening.

"You must carry on living life as normal, but at the same time always keep an eye open and be slightly suspicious and vigilant. So if you see a bag which you think is doubtful or if you see some people whom you think are doubtful, let somebody know and we will have it investigated."

During the simulated exercise, the police tactical team was the first to swing into action, followed by the Singapore Armed Forces' Special Operations Task Force. They pursued a few terrorists who managed to enter the hotel's ballroom and take several hostages.

Colonel Benedict Lim, Assistant Chief of General Staff (Operations), said: "In a counter-terrorist situation, the Special Operations Task Force is the force at the national level to conduct storming operations to neutralise the terrorists and to rescue the hostages."

PM Lee stressed that the responses by the various agencies were the outcome of many years of building up capabilities and training people.

"We have spent a long time doing this and that is what our safety, security, peace of mind, stability and prosperity depend on, and we are very grateful to the Home Team and the SAF for keeping us safe," he said.

Besides the various agencies involved in Exercise Northstar VII, the private sector – particularly the hotel management – also played an important role by working closely with security agencies in the safety and evacuation drills.

The exercise was conducted at ten different locations, including a shopping mall and an MRT station, in two phases.

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Education said schools will resume co-curricular activities (CCAs) next week.

This while taking precautions such as temperature-taking and visual screening for flu-like symptoms at the start of sessions.

But the ministry said some schools have already resumed CCAs to allow students to train for sports meets or to prepare for the upcoming Singapore Youth Festival.

Life is almost back to normal at Rulang Primary except that students still have to go through mandatory temperature checks.

But at least all co-curricular activities have resumed after being suspended for the last two weeks as an H1N1 precaution.

Low Min Chye, vice principal, Rulang Primary School, said: "CCAs are an important part of our school curriculum. So this is the reason why we decided to resume but measures are taken such as CCA groups are kept to a small group and very importantly the pupils are kept together for a maximum of 45 minutes."

Besides this, Channel NewsAsia understands that ministry guidelines also state that where possible, students should avoid close contact and be at least two metres apart.

As a precaution, at least one secondary school is known to have stopped one-on-one counselling sessions to minimise close contact.

Over at Republic Polytechnic, a rule restricting students to certain canteens has left some students disgruntled.

So the school has decided to ease up a little on that ruling but said it's in a unique situation where being over-cautious is important.

Ang Keng Loo, senior director, Student Affairs, said: "We don't have a lecture theatre system where everybody sits there and listens. We have groups of students discussing actively throughout the whole day and the amount of interaction they go through, should there be a person who is infected in that group - the transmission is almost like 100 per cent."

One of the reasons for Republic Polytechnic's stricter rules, they said is because of the initial rapid spread of the H1N1 virus among students.

105 students have been infected so far. 97 have recovered.

1973: Singapore buys 50 former US Navy A-4Bs and TA-4Bs stored at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in the Arizona desert. Lockheed Aircraft Services rebuilds these as A-4S Skyhawks.
July 14, 1973: A-4S Skyhawk, unique to Singapore, makes its first flight in Ontario, California.
1974: 142 Gryphon Squadron, first A-4S unit, formed at Changi Air Base.
1975: 143 Phoenix Squadron, second A-4S unit, formed at Changi Air Base.
1980: Singapore orders another 70 A-4C airframes stored in Arizona and ships them to Singapore. Singapore Aircraft Industries (SAI) rebuilds planes as A-4S-1.
1984: Ministry of Defence plans Skyhawk engine upgrade.
1984: 145 Hornet Squadron, third Skyhawk unit, formed at Tengah Air Base.

1987: Mindef upgrades A-4U again, this time with new avionics, or aircraft electronics.

Aug 9, 1990: 142 Squadron and 145 Squadron form the number "25" at National Day Parade with a formation of 25 A-4U Skyhawks.
1997: 143 Squadron retires its Super Skyhawks.
1998: Ten A-4SU Super Skyhawk sent to RSAF training squadrons in France by cargo ship. Another eight Skyhawks shipped in March 1999.
2003: 145 Squadron retires its Super Skyhawks.
March 31, 2005: 142 Squadron's Siper Skyhawks retired. Twelve Super Skyhawks make last flight over Singapore. Training squadron in France will continue flying Super Skyhawks for another two to three years.

Four planes down
While the secondhand warplanes may have been much cheaper than buying new aircraft, keeping them flying was not easy. One particular problem was the engine, as the company that made it had closed.
Col Teh recalled: "These 1950s engines weren't very reliable."
They caused what has been called the Skyhawk Crisis. From July to October 1985, the RSAF lost four planes. The pilot of one plane died.
However, with frequent maintanence, the old engines served till 1993.
In the meantime, plans to replace them were put into high gear.
Two engines were considered, but neither had been put in a Skyhawk before and no one knew how the plane would perform with one of these transplants.
It looked workable, however, and the RSAF decided to try te engine used in the United States Navy F/A-18 Hornet fighter. It was a winner.
When a prototype made its first flight with the new engine on Sept 19, 1986, it outran the F-5F chase planes sent to monitor its performance.
The more powerful engine allowed the aircraft to climb faster, accelerate more rapidly and carry more weapons than the A-4S. It also shortened the Skyhawk's take-off by 30 per cent.
Second Warrant Officer Alywin Ong, 44, a flight line warrant, said: "We were so impressed."
The new engines also needed 25 per cent less time to upkeep.

Army Launches 3rd Generation Medical Support System

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean officiated at the launch of the 3rd Generation Army Medical Support System at Nee Soon Camp this afternoon. DPM Teo witnessed how a simulated combat casualty was treated at the Battalion Casualty Station (BCS), at the brigade-level by a Mobile Surgical Team (MST), and at the Combat Support Hospital (CSH). He also saw a demonstration by a Heliborne Aeromedical Evacuation team operating on board a Chinook helicopter.

The BCS is equipped with a full suite of advanced trauma and life support systems similar to an Accident and Emergency (A&E) resuscitation facility in a hospital. Casualties are able to receive advanced trauma and life support within the hour before they are transferred to the MST for SAF surgeons to conduct damage control surgery such as life- and limb-saving operations. Further treatment will be provided by the CSH which has a range of multidisciplinary medical services in the field, including emergency care and advanced surgery. The forward deployment of A&E and field surgical capabilities significantly shortens the overall time taken for casualties to receive life-saving treatment, thereby enhancing their survivability.

The launch of the 3rd Generation Army Medical Support System marks a major milestone in the SAF's medical transformation and reflects the SAF's commitment to provide the best possible health and medical care to our servicemen.

GLA Missile System

The IGLA Missile System is a low level air defence system operated by the Air Defence Systems Division (ADSD) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

The IGLA is designed to engage low-flying aircraft, including helicopters and is a man-portable, shoulder-launched, short range missile system, comprising a missile and a launching mechanism. It is capable of intercepting targets up to 5 km in range and 3 km in altitude.

Mechanised Igla

The Mechanised Igla is a Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) System that provides low level air defence to the Army and its critical assets. It is operated by the Divisional Air Defence Group. The Mechanised Igla has two variants - the Weapon Fire Unit (WFU) which is equipped with an Igla Missile Launcher and the Integrated Fire Unit (IFU), which has an additional radar. It enhances the RSAF's ability to engage threats more responsively and precisely.

a. Enhanced Mobility and Responsiveness. The Igla used to be carried by soldiers. The Mechanised Igla has the Igla system mounted on the M113, enhancing mobility, protection and responsiveness.

b. Enhanced Lethality.The Mechanised Igla has 4 ready-to-fire Igla missiles that can be fired off in quick succession without reloading. The high-speed missiles are effective against low-flying fighters and helicopters.

c. Precise Target Cueing. Previously, the Igla operator had to acquire the air threat visually. The Mechanised Igla now has an advanced radar that cues the weapon system towards the air threats precisely. A basic platoon comprises 1 IFU and 2 WFU. The IFU, with its integrated targeting radar, is able to cue itself and the 2 WFU to engage the targets precisely.

d. Continuous Operations. The Mechanised Igla is equipped with a Day and Night Sight System (DNSS) for continuous operations. In addition, it is equipped with a machine gun for self defence against any ground attacks.

The FPS 117 has a greater range, an enhanced detection capability and can give an object's bearing, height and range. Its reach of 250 nautical miles means that it covers an area of up to 11 times the size of Singapore lengthwise and 20 times widthwise. It sustains accuracy in a variety of conditions and is able to differentiate between fast and slow moving objects.

The MISTRAL MANPADS is a short range, heat -seeking "Fire and Forget" surface-to-air missile system. It is able to intercept targets up to a range of 5.3 km and a height of 3km with a minimum range of 0.6 km. And its advanced homing head technology ensures good resistance against infrared counter-measures. Man-portable and heli-transportable, the MISTRAL requires a minimum of two to operate its system. It has a quick deployment time in the autonomous configuration.

In a simple ceremony, Boeing marked the completion of the very first F-15SG, Singapore's variant of the F-15E, at its factory in St Louis, Missouri on 3 Nov.

The all-weather, multi-role fighter is slated to become a key force in theRepublic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF's) arsenal as it will replace the retired A-4SU Super Skyhawk fighter-bombers.

"As the mainstay of our next generation multi-role fighter aircraft, the F-15SG will enhance our air defence, air superiority and strike capabilities," said Chief of Air Force Major-General (MG) Ng Chee Khern.

"The F-15SG will also add a new dimension to the RSAF's integration with the 3rd Generation SAF. The fighter will deliver effective air power to the rest of the SAF, enabling the RSAF to help shape land and maritime campaigns."

The highly versatile F-15SG is capable of air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

The RSAF has ordered 24 F-15SGs from Boeing and is scheduled to receive all the jets by 2012, according to Boeing Military Aircraft president Chris Chadwick.

The first batch of the most advanced variant of the F-15, which has chalked up 104 victories with no losses in air combat, is due in the second quarter of 2009. It will be delivered to the RSAF's detachment at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.

Said Boeing Vice-President of the F-15 programme Mark Bass: "Singapore has incorporated some significant technological advances to the aircraft. Most notable of which is an advanced electronically scanned array radar."

Other key improvements include a more powerful set of engines, additional fuel tanks and a higher maximum payload.

In preparation for the delivery of the first batch of F-15SGs, the RSAF detachment has already begun training on the United States Air Force's F-15Es in the US.

The roll-out ceremony for the twin-seater fighter was attended by over 200 people including Boeing staff and members of the Defence Science & Technology Agency, which is managing the acquisition.

"The F-15SG programme is yet another example of the excellent partnership between the United States and Singapore and the dedication of our two countries to common security objectives," said US Ambassador to Singapore Patricia Herbold who was a distinguished guest at the ceremony.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force(RSAF) detachment at Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) in Idaho, United States, received the first batch of four F-15SG multi-role fighter aircraft today. This marks the beginning of RSAF F-15 training at MHAFB. Prior to this, the RSAF pilots have been undergoing F-15 training with their USAF counterparts in Seymour Johnson Air Force base in North Carolina, United States.

The delivery of the RSAF's F-15SG aircraft is another significant milestone in the RSAF's transformation into the 3rd Generation Air Force. Equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and a sophisticated integrated sensor suite, the F-15SG is the most advanced variant of the F-15 aircraft built to date. I-Hawk (I-FU)

The I-Hawk System provides low to medium level air defence as part of the national air defence. With a maximum effective range of 40 km, the I-Hawk can defend against targets manouevering up to 8 Gs, has a Single Shot Kill Probability (SSKP) of 0.85 and is effective against noise jamming and deceptive counter-measures.

Upgraded I-HAWK

The Upgraded I-HAWK system provides low to medium level air defence as part of the Networked Air Defence system. It is operated by 163 SQN and enhances the RSAF's ability to engage threats more responsively and precisely.

a. Enhanced Reliability. Its predecessor, the I-HAWK system, was analogue-based. The Upgraded I-HAWK system has been digitised using advanced computers and modern man-machine interface, thus enhancing the overall capability and reliability of the weapon system.

b. Enhanced Survivability. Previously, the I-HAWK system required its own surveillance radar but the Upgraded I-HAWK system no longer requires its own surveillance radar as it gets an integrated air picture directly from the C2 centre. Hence, it is less susceptible to electronic counter-measures. In addition, the components of the Upgraded I-HAWK system can be spread out over a larger distance than before, making it more difficult to be detected from the air and enhancing survivability against enemy attacks.

c. Enhanced Awareness. The I-HAWK system used to receive 2D (direction & range) target data within a 40km range. The Upgraded I-HAWK system receives directly from the C2 centre a 3D (bearing, range & altitude) integrated air picture.

d. Enhanced Firepower & Precision. Previously, the I-HAWK system could only engage one air threat at a time. The Upgraded I-HAWK system comprises an upgraded target acquisition radar which is now able to engage multiple air threats simultaneously. In addition, the engagements are more responsive and precise due to the 3D target data which it receives from the C2 centre.

SINGAPORE: This year's Best Units of the Singapore Armed Forces were announced on Monday, ahead of SAF Day celebrations on July 1.

The Best Combat Unit award went to the 1st Commando Battalion - for the sixth consecutive year. It is also the Battalion's record 23rd win since the competition was introduced in 1969.

The Best Ship award went to the Navy's RSS Victory - its fifth win.

The Air Force's 144 Squadron won the Best Fighter Squadron award for the third time.

The awards recognise units that have set themselves apart in the areas of combat readiness, operational proficiency and administrative excellence.

The awards will be presented to the winning units on SAF Day.

Giraffe Agile Multiple Beam (AMB) Radar

The Giraffe Agile Multiple Beam (AMB) Radar is a compact, highly mobile radar designed for low level air surveillance. It is operated by 160 SQN. It enhances the RSAF's ability to see further and with better clarity.

a. Extended Range/Height coverage. Its predecessor, the Basic Giraffe (BG), had range and height coverages of 40km and 7km respectively. The Giraffe AMB Radar has extended range and height coverages of 60km and 20km respectively.

b. Superior Detection Capabilities. The BG provided only 2D (direction & range) target data. The Giraffe AMB Radar provides 3D (direction, range & altitude) target data. Its superior detection capabilities also enable it to detect small, low flying and/or slow moving air targets (e.g. hovering helicopters) which were more difficult to detect by the older sensors.

c. Faster Deployment. The Giraffe AMB Radar can be fully deployed by 2 operators and be ready for operations within 10 minutes.

Technical Specifications:

a. Accurate 3D pulsed Doppler radar with multiple track capability.
b. Operating on C-band frequency.
c. Range coverage of up to 60km.
d. Height coverage of up to 20km.
e. Built-in simulator for operator training.

Basic Giraffe Radar (Giraffe)

The Basic Giraffe is a short range search radar. Acting as a Low Level Control Centre, it provides early warning and target designation to all SHORAD systems. The radar is mounted on a 10-tonner, has a detection range of 40 km and a scan rate of 60 rpm.

Hey peeps!
Khairul here. Just wanna share u my experience during spec course lol. But before that, i would like to congratulate myself for getting 2sgt and the PLATOON BEST!!! ( right back at cha Nic ;D). hahaha
Secondly, i would like to say thanks for those who have helped me both mentally and physically. These peeps are none other than the CLTs ( Especially Sir Alvin!!) and my platoons mates :) !

K, before the course, i've heard rumours saying that this course is one of the most difficult to go tru. Seriously, i was so afraid of this course until i had intentions of coming up with reasons for not able to attend this course ;D. That was when until Sir Alvin start to come in and tell stuffs to prepare us for this course lol. really appreciate it. ;D

During the course, there's this feeling i had at first. That is not wanting to go up and volounteer myself. I remembered that i kept saying to myself to become the IC/Timer for the next time they ask for it. I kept saying this each time someone else volounteers to become the IC/Timer.
Then as time pass by during the course, i saw Jia Jun becoming the IC and Zhen Ming becoming the Timers like nobody business lol. Then thats when it hit me real hard. I said to myself that if im the USM and im not doing better than the others, that would be something to be ashamed of. Strange enough, i thought of Nicholas (EX- USM) and his words saying that if im here for the course, i have the option to just let it pass by just like that or to make the best out of it. I chose No.2 :). hahas
I started to become the IC for as much as possible and one thing u guys out there should know is that when u become the IC or something, u seriously have to be confident of yourself. Thats all u need. I heard other peeps saying this like so many times. SERIOUSLY! u need to have confidence in urself.
Wondering what the IC do? For me, i just did what we usually train at school. Simple stuffs like falling in quickly and not take your own sweet time. And even dragging of boots! I become like a tape recorder to my platoon mates lol. But at the same time, i remembered what the seniors told me about paul. Haha. So, after i remind them to hurry up or stop draggin their boots, i will either start a really3 informal conversation with them just to shake off the 'heat' between me and those peeps. :).
That is basically what i did for the rest of the course. Suprisingly, i won the award BUT!, i really10 disagree that jia jun was not chosen as the platoon/company best as i really10 think he did way better than me. Eveytime i feel like i did something wrong during the course, i just look at jia jun and comfirm 1!, he will be giving instructions to other peeps. This really boost up the confidence in me big time. Same goes for Zhen Ming.
But all this already happened and what to do? hahas
With that, i would like to end this with another "thank you" and "Good Job" to those who got their 2sgt and the others who completed this course.
